First Look at Canon PowerShot S100 Coming Soon to Singapore

Canon did a major launch of their latest products recently (29th September 2011) at Zirca. A total of over 20 products were launched or introduced on that day. One of them that caught my eyes (and many others) is the Canon PowerShot S100.

Canon PowerShot S100 is actually the upgraded version from S95. Remember my S90 review? It is now PowerShot S100. First thing I notice is the color. Now, it has other colors other than black. And it has a better zoom now (5x optical).

BTW, this is not a review. I only touch it like 10 minutes. Nothing to review yet. Just the appearance and first impression. As usual, it has the superb F2.0 aperture and now, it has a DIGIC 5 processor which according to the Press Release, will be faster.

The screen is still at 3-inch screen. The Lens Control Ring is still around for you to customize its usage.

If you notice, there is a GPS wording on the top. S100 has GPS logging function so that you can track the location of where your pictures were taken.

The bottom is basically the same with the tripod hole. The battery/SD card compartment is sealed.

You have the same output like the Mini USB port (for audio/video out as well as data connection to the computer) and the Mini HDMI port.

Finally, I have to admit that the biggest attraction (to me) is that it can take full HD video (at 24fps) with Stereo Sound and the Super Slow Motion Movie mode which records videos at 240fps (QVGA quality) or 120fps (VGA quality). Yes, the quality is a bit low and it is awesome to have such features.
