Asus Wants You to Use their Eee Slate with Windows 7 – Video Within

Asus and Microsoft, we got your message with all these videos. Microsoft is currently promoting the Asus Eee Slate that is running on Windows 7. In these videos, you can see some jobs are better off with a full PC than a tablet. So, are you convince?

For blogger’s point of view, I guess it is true that blogging on a Windows 7 device is definitely much better than on a tablet. Sometimes, I wish I have a Microsoft Windows 7 tablet when I am outside.

For those who needs to rely heavily on Microsoft Office, I guess you will need a Windows 7 tablet.

Seriously, for this advert, I am not convince. The mom can be better off with an iPad or Android tablets if her objective is to entertain herself and her kid with pictures and Youtube videos.

    As a long time user (7yrs) of Tablet PC from my old Acer to my current Fujitsu running Win7Pro, I must say that Windows 7 is an excellent platform for Touch interface unlike what some reviewers are saying.

    The on-screen keyboard can accept multi-taps, hand-writings & even voice recognition. Multi-selection of objects is easy & even supports drag&drop.

    The new slates from HP, Asus & Acer coming into Singapore the next few months will be very interesting especially if they are running Sandy Bridge chipset or better yet, AMD Fusion (not likely).

    With a Core i3 CPU + 32/64GB SSD + a 4-cell battery, a 10″ LED screen, Windows 7 32-bit Slate should be able to last 4-6 hours with Wifi on & medium-level screen brightness.

    Eric Tay: Thanks for the input. I certainly hope to have the best of both world, a dual boot like the ViewPad 10.1 (but need to be better la).
