Panasonic Asia Channel E Launch Event – Video Within

I was invited to Panasonic Asia Channel E Launch event. It was great to see so many familiar faces there. Most of the Tech bloggers and some lifestyle and fashion bloggers were also there. The event was held at “It’s Tiffany Gourmet Coffee & Great Food” cafe at the Esplanade (next to the Library).

It is a nice place to laze around in a Saturday morning.

The event started with the introduction of the new Panasonic’s Channel E.

Basically, Panasonic wants you to spread the awareness of the environment.

This CHANNEL E is hosted by MTV VJ Holly Grabarek. Panasonic wants you to be their Environmental Journalist (EJ) or Photo Journalist (PJ).  Here is a short clip on what it is all about.

BTW, did I mention that you can win prizes by submitting to Channel E?

There are a few things that you can do with Channel E.

First you can become a Environmental Journalist (EJ) and submit a short video about the environment. If you win, you can get a chance to host Panasonic’s Channel E. If you like photography, you can enter the Photo Journalist (PJ) competition with the Beast or Beauty category.

After the introduction, we were grouped in twos to play a simple game. Each group was given a majong paper and we had 15 minutes to express ourselves about the environment, like what causes environmental issues and how we can help.

And the rest.

The judging starts. 3 teams are selected to have a presentation on their work.

BTW, the winning team will get away with a Panasonic Lumix LX-5 and a leather casing each.

First up is Ridz.

Next, is my team. DK is the presentor. As I am part of this team, I would like to elaborate a bit more about our drawing.

It shows a palm in the middle on a circle. The circle represents Earth and our idea is to transmit the message that we are the one that causes the environmental issues, we can also be the one to solve them.

On one side of the earth, we see factories, cars that emit substances that pollute the air. We also see dying trees and etc. However, on the other side, if we do our part to protect the environment, we can continue living with green trees, birds flying above our head, a picture of happy family, a stream with lots of fishes. The cyclist represents one of the ways that human can do to reduce the damage to the environment.

The third group by Chester.

After some discussion among the judges, the results are out. These are the consolation prize winners 🙂 .

Seriously, I forgot to take the picture of the other team because DK and I won the first prize!

DK and I posing with our drawing.

And here is my prize.. 🙂 Super nice!

Panasonic is also super generous. Each of us were given a rechargeable charger with lots of batteries. All of us (the Tech bloggers la) were smiling all the way. I love the Evolta batteries. Thank you, Panasonic.
