Rumor: Facebook Working With iNQ on Making a Phone or Two

TechCrunch started it. Facebook denied it flatly. TechCrunch invited to Facebook HQ for a talk. Now, we are convinced something is going on at Facebook.

Rumors are flying around that Facebook is making Facebook Phone. Of course, Facebook denied it almost quite immediately.

From the originator, TechCrunch’s report, it did NOT state that Facebook is making a phone. It states that they might be working on the software or with third party on a phone (just like Google Nexus One with HTC).

Facebook immediately issued a statement to denounce it. Then again, it did not stop TechCrunch or CNET to continue their stories based on their sources.

I think Facebook foresee  a bigger problem if this matter is not settled. They (or just Mark Zuckerberg) invited TechCrunch to Facebook HQ to clarify the matter.

The best part is that after the meeting, it seems that there is really something going on at Facebook. Rumors still continue.

According to Bloomberg, 3 person familiar with the matter, Facebook might be talking with iNQ to build 2 devices and this devices might even run on Android OS.

I think if iNQ is making these phones, it makes perfect sense as I remembered when I talked to them during iNQ Mini 3G launch in Singapore, they are passionate on integrating social networking elements deeply into their phone.

Actually, iNQ CEO Frank Meehan made a statement last year, saying that their future handsets might be Android.

So, what do you think? Will you buy a Facebook endorsed phone?
