LG 3D Products and 3D TV Technology Explained

After attending the LG Blogger Forum, I felt more ready to talk about 3D technology. The world is currently on the 3D trend and of course, LG is also on this trend. For a start, here are some LG products that are for 3D.

In this post, I will be talking about 3D TV. As for the rest like 3D projector, sound and plasma TV, I will talk about them later.

First of all, I think many people (like me) will be confused about what 3D standard TV makers are adopting. Some may be using Polarized Glasses type and majority using Shutter Glasses type. From my understanding, with the current technology, shutter glasses performs much better than polarized glasses.

For TV that uses Polarized Glasses, a film of filter is placed in front of the screen. So, you will only need a polarized glasses to see the 3D images.

For TV that uses Shutter Glasses, the glasses actually block the image on the glasses alternately resulting in 3D images.

And if you notice, LG has been promoting the Infinia design. From my understanding, this Infinia design starts from CES 2010 and LG’s focus is on the slim and borderless design.

Apart from that, LG mentioned that their 3D TV has lower power consumption rate.

I have learned quite a number of things in the LG Blogger Forum. Now I know how to differentiate between a good and bad 3D LED TV and I understand now why the market has more shutter glasses type TV than Polarized type 🙂 .
