McCoy Programmable Mini Robot Can Do Many Tricks – Video Within

McCoy has been bringing in a lot of products recently. I have seen them at PC Show recently. Now, at CommunicAsia 2010 in June, one of their products caught my eyes. It is a programmable robot that I guess could be used for educational purposes. It has over 100 joints and programmable for any purpose.

The demo that I saw has a remote control as the controller. According to the Korean representative, you can use any controller to program it. With its many joints, I am sure schools can use it to teach robotics and moving mechanism. As it is programmable, students can actually add A.I. to it. The only thing about this robot is that the walking mechanism is not that good and it does not have motor to turn the mid section. However, according to them, they can be added.

The robot is slightly more than 50cm.

Here are some other profiles.

The robot has good sense of balance.

And with its built in Gyro Sensor, basically, it will balance itself when being pushed. Here is a short video that I made. Enjoy. BTW, the cost of this robot is S$1,500 when I asked during the CommunicAsia 2010.
