Kim Graham’s Digitigrade Leg Lands Her a Job for Hobbit Movie – Video Within

Kim Graham would never have thought that her design on a Digitigrade Leg (which she called it Digilegs) could land her a job on Weta working on the Hobbit movies. Now, her infamous design has been renamed Weta legs, of course. Watch the amazing video of her design.

Today, I learned a new word, Digitigrade. From Wikipedia,

A digitigrade is an animal that stands or walks on its digits, or toes. Digitigrades include walking birds (what many assume to be bird knees are actually ankles), cats, dogs, and most other mammals, but not humans, bears, and a few others (cf. plantigrade, unguligrade).

According to Weta website, this is a first time that a Digitigrade leg can be bought publicly. The legs are made-to-order and it will cost you US$945 for a pair. Here is how it looks like without the costume. BTW, she is the designer, Kim Graham.
