Is Your Home Ready for OpenNet Nationwide Fibre Network?

Posted on 02 March 2010 by Joe Teh

Today, my friend showed me a website. It is the OpenNet website. OpenNet is a joint venture between four partners – Axia NetMedia (Axia), Singapore Telecommunications (SingTel), Singapore Press Holdings (SPH) and Singapore Power Telecommunications (SPT). What is does is that it will install your home with Fibre Optic that can reach the speed of up to 1 gigabit per second or 10 times faster than what is available today. Is your area ready for the upgrade.

OpenNet has a website that allows you to check the schedule for this roll out. Some have already done their setup and this exercise will continue until 2012.

BTW,  this is how a fibre optic box looks like.
