If you are a Windows Vista user, you will know that running it on a Netbook will definitely slow down the netbook to the extend of you getting frustrated. However, with Windows 7 (Beta), it seems to solve the issue. Microsoft must have been listening (after the Vista disaster).
To quench your thirst, I found a video of Windows 7 (Beta) installed on MSi Wind U100 netbook and it seems to be running fine. Imagine the boot up takes only slightly more than a minute for the netbook. Video link after the break.

I am sure that by next year (after Windows 7 launches), we will be see Netbooks with Windows 7 (and I hope with multi-touch screen). Apple is already having plan with a touch screen netbook. So I guess, Windows will be rushing to get Windows 7 tested and released.

I have the WIND U100 with 2GB RAM and 160GB HDD. I installed Windows 7 Beta. Been using it for a week now. It was one of the easiest OS install I have performed. All device drivers were installed automatically and worked fine. Netbook works pretty well. Looks great and works great. Battery life is good as well. Love it.
