HTC Touch 3G Review – Google Map and Street View – Video Within

Posted on 21 December 2008 by Joe Teh

This is a review of Google Map application on HTC Touch 3G.

First of all, I have to clarify, HTC Touch 3G DOES NOT come with Google Map application. You will need to download it and install yourself. I think it is pretty easy. I will provide the link (after the break) for you to get the application free.

Previously, I have installed Google Map on my PDA before. However, there is no Street View function. Right now, by just a click of a button, you can activate Street View.

Just to let you know. Not all countries has Street View. Only a handful, in fact. Singapore is lucky to be one of them (but it is not ready yet). I have made a short video of using Google Map and Street View on HTC Touch 3G.

HTC Touch 3G scrolling is very smooth even though it is not a capacitive screen. That makes using the Google Map and Street View a breeze. I think many people will benefit from it (not the data charge) if their vincinity has Street View function. Especially when you are lost and need some assurance of where you are.

As you can see above, there is the search function, get directions, satellite view, show traffic, use GPS, Favorites, Clear Map, Option, Help and exit. It is quite self-explanatory.

Here is the Video that I made on using Google Map.
